GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (AP) - Police say a man suspected of robbing a Dallas-area bank and falsely claiming to have a bomb returned to the scene to surrender and give back the cash.

Grand Prairie police say an Arlington man was arrested following Wednesday’s holdup of a Chase bank. Nobody was hurt. The suspect faces a felony aggravated robbery charge.

Police say a man around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday entered the bank and gave a teller a note that said he wanted money and had a bomb. He put a package on the ledge, exited with some cash and drove off.

Grand Prairie police were at the scene when he returned and surrendered, saying the stolen cash money was in his truck.

Police say there was no bomb. Investigators didn’t say how much money was taken.
