Since talks are ongoing with North Korea, a logical mediation on the part of President Trump would be an invitation to Kim Jong-un to meet at Mar-a-Lago or the White House.

Since he’s been in office, Mr. Trump has invited almost three dozen leaders to meet him. Kim Jong-un was not among them. Xi Jinping of China and Shinzo Abe of Japan met the president at Mar-a-Lago, while President Moon Jae-in of South Korea met Mr. Trump at the White House.

Mr. Kim is explosive. To him, all politics is personal. Instead of being threatening and blustery, Mr. Trump should personally invite Mr. Kim for a tete-a-tete. With the president’s outgoing, non-political personality, he will be able to add statesman to his resume.
