RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina’s unemployment rate nudged down to 4.1 percent in July, a tiny decrease from the previous month.

The state’s Commerce Department said Friday the jobless rate dropped one-tenth of a percentage point from June. That was the same decrease for the national unemployment rate in July, which fell to 4.3 percent.

The number of unemployed North Carolina workers decreased 7,000 between June and July to 200,000. The past year has seen the number of people on payrolls increase by nearly 77,000 to almost 4.7 million.
