PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - A Maine gubernatorial candidate says the brother of former President George H.W. Bush hosted a fundraiser for her campaign for the 2018 Republican nomination.

The Portland Press Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2fKSY3L ) Jonathan Bush Sr. held the fundraiser for Mary Mayhew at his home on North Haven Island Tuesday.

Bush is the father of Billy Bush, the former “Access Hollywood” correspondent who was filmed in a discussion with President Donald Trump where the president described grabbing women against their will.

Mayhew is the only Republican currently running to replace Republican Gov. Paul LePage. She formerly served as the commissioner of the Department of Health and Human Services.

Mayhew’s campaign finance report says her privately-funded campaign has raised $78,000 with $66,000 on hand.
