Washington at Boston on Christmas Day. It’s the game most expected since the seven-game Eastern Conference semifinals between the teams ended May 15 with a Boston win. The NBA made it official Thursday night.

The Wizards will play in Boston on Dec. 25 at 5:30 p.m. Washington versus Boston is one of five games on the day that the league uses to display marquee matchups. The others are Philadelphia at New York, Cleveland at Golden State, Houston at Oklahoma City and Minnesota at the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Wizards last played on Christmas Day in 2014, when they defeated the Knicks in New York. That was Washington’s first Christmas Day game since 2008.

Washington will open its season at home Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. against the Philadelphia 76ers. This is notable. Washington has not opened a full regular season at home since 2008. It last opened the season at home in 2011, which was a lockout-shortened season.
