With the St. Louis Cardinals trailing the Kansas City Royals 5-4 Wednesday night, Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina stepped to the plate in the bottom of the sixth with two outs and the bases loaded.

In the middle of the high-leverage at-bat, this happened.

The next pitch, Molina hit a grand slam to give St. Louis the lead, and the legend of Rally Cat was born.

Cardinals fans quickly took inspiration from the feline field invader, one in particular designing a new jersey for Molina.

Rally Cat might be exactly what the Cardinals needed heading into the season’s final stretch. With Wednesday night’s 8-5 win and the Cubs 3-1 loss to San Francisco, St. Louis now trails Chicago by just 1.5 games in the NL Central.

In fact, one fan took that a step further.
