PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A man who was armed with a military-style rifle is in custody after a two-hour manhunt in the Philadelphia area.

Philadelphia police say an officer was investigating a report of gunfire in the northeastern part of the city when she saw the man carrying an AR-15 carbine. Police say she ordered the man to drop the weapon, but he instead threw it in the back of his truck and drove away.

Officers chased him to nearby Bensalem, where he crashed into a ditch and ran into the woods. He was later tracked down in Philadelphia and arrested.

Police say they recovered the loaded AR-15 and an Uzi submachine gun in the truck.
