EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A judge has sentenced an Oregon man to 10 years in prison for possessing images of child pornography.

Prosecutor Bob Lane said Thursday that 37-year-old Brian Lee Yoakum of Florence turned over an iPad that contained hundreds, perhaps thousands, of images depicting child sexual abuse. Investigators also found a binder full of pornographic photos.

Yoakum pleaded guilty to first-degree encouraging child sexual abuse.

The Register-Guard (https://bit.ly/2vSSqPo ) reports that Yoakum pleaded guilty in a similar case seven years ago. He was sentenced back then to two years of probation. He also had to register as a sex offender and participate in treatment.

Public defender Robert Kaiser said in court Thursday that Yoakum completed some treatment in Eugene but eventually stopped going because it became difficult for him to travel from Florence.
