ALLIANCE, Neb. (AP) - A longtime Scottsbluff city manager has been hired as city manager in Alliance.

Rick Kuckkahn was appointed to the post at Tuesday night’s City Council meeting in Alliance. He’d been serving as interim manager since September.

Kuckkahn says he’s been impressed with the council and the staff here, “so there was a mutual good feeling about what was happening.”

He was held a position in Rockville, Maryland, before serving 18 years as city manager for Scottsbluff. He retired there last spring.

Alliance sits 44 miles (71 kilometers) northeast of Scottsbluff in the Nebraska Panhandle.
