Sergio Garcia was tied Friday for the lead at The Masters, shooting four under par with Charley Hoffman after playing the 10th hole of the second round. However, The Masters website changed Garcia’s score on the 10th from a five to a seven shortly after the Spaniard teed off on the par-four 11th.
This change immediately sparked questions of a possible penalty from those following the tournament online.
The Masters website broadcasts multiple feeds of the event before ESPN coverage begins at 2 p.m. Eastern, and different feeds had Garcia at different scores.
The Amen Corner broadcast had Garcia at three under, while another feed had him at one under.
Augusta.com tweeted that there would be an announcement coming regarding a possible penalty for Garcia on number 10.
The Sergio Garcia situation: We’re told there will be an announcement about a possible penalty Sergio took at No. 10. Developing. #masters

ESPN’s Bob Harig appeared to clear up the situation with this tweet:
The scoreboards have not updated, but Sergio apparently made a 5 at the 10th meaning he is -2 overall and 2 back. #Masters

Currently tied for second at two under par, Garcia looks to win his first major this weekend. He has had 22 top-10 finishes in major championships, but remains without a victory.
