CHICAGO (AP) - Getting to Wrigley Field or just maneuvering around it will be challenging when the Chicago Cubs return for Opening Day.
City officials say motorists should be aware that for security reasons some nearby streets may be closed Monday. Trucks won’t be allowed on the streets closest to Wrigley for two hours before the 7:05 p.m. game and an hour after the game.
Officials also encourage fans to use public transportation to relieve some congestion. But if they do drive, they should know parking spots near Wrigley Field are both rare and will be more expensive on game days this season.
Fans attending Monday’s game should also give themselves plenty of time to get through security. The Cubs will hoist the World Championship banner at 6:15 p.m.
