DOVER, N.H. (AP) - The attorney general’s office says a man who fatally shot his son last year in Dover, New Hampshire, won’t face any charges.

Police got a 911 call in December and found 76-year-old John Davis injured with several gunshot wounds. They entered his home and found his son, 55-year-old Brenton Davis, dead. They said it appears Brenton Davis shot his father several times before John Davis retrieved a shotgun and returned fire, wounding Brenton. John Davis left and called 911. He told police he thought his son was going to kill him.

Police said no one else was in the home at the time.

An attorney general’s office report released Friday said Brenton Davis had a history of mental health issues.
