POTSDAM, N.Y. (AP) - Clarkson University will give an honorary degree to the top executive at General Electric.

The northern New York school says GE chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt will receive one of three honorary degrees being handed out at its graduation ceremony on May 13.

Immelt has led GE since 2001.

Clarkson’s Capital Region Campus will hold a separate commencement on June 9 in Schenectady.
