Georgetown legend Patrick Ewing is scheduled to interview for the Hoyas’ vacant head coaching position on Monday.

Ewing arrived in Washington on Sunday and will have a formal, face-to-face interview with school officials, according to The Vertical.

Ewing is currently the associate head coach of the Charlotte Hornets, who are scheduled to play the Wizards on Tuesday night at the Verizon Center.

Ewing has been an NBA assistant for 15 years, so it was unclear whether he would be interested in the position at his alma mater.

It was reported last week that Notre Dame’s Mike Brey and Texas’ Shaka Smart had already rejected offers from the Hoyas. A source indicated that both coaches were approached but neither seriously considered the offer.
