LODI, Calif. (AP) - A 12-year-old was arrested after police in northern California found a concealed a sawed-off rifle in his front waistband.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/2nwz7Dw ) Monday that a Lodi police officer approached two boys who were “acting suspiciously” on Saturday.

The newspaper reports that as part of the interaction with the boys, the officer found a .22-caliber rifle with the barrel sawed off and the stock missing.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of committing several firearms-related offenses and resisting arrest. His name was not released. The case remains under investigation.
