MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Missoula will finally have its own water utility by the end of May.

The Missoulian reports (https://bit.ly/2psJNpr ) Mayor John Engen announced the news Friday. The new water utility will be called Missoula Water.

The city will pay $96.4 million for the water system and related costs. The move comes after the city forced former water system owner The Carlyle Group to sell the utility through the court three years ago. City officials still need to finalize the agreement with current owner Liberty Utilities.
