ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - The Los Angeles Angels have put first baseman C.J. Cron and left-handed starter Tyler Skaggs on the 10-day disabled list.

The Angels made the move Saturday before playing at Texas.

Cron has a bruised left foot and Skaggs has a strained right oblique. They both left Friday night’s game against the Rangers.

The Angels recalled right-hander Daniel Wright from Triple-A Salt Lake and selected right-hander Jose Valdez to the major league roster. To make room for Valdez on the 40-man roster, left-hander Greg Mahle was designated for assignment.

Cron fouled a ball off the top of the foot in the eighth inning.

“I think it’s just a bruise,” said Cron, seated in the Angels’ clubhouse Saturday with his foot taped and elevated on a chair. “It’s unfortunate, but it’s nothing too serious.”

Cron is hitting .233 with no home runs and three RBIs in 17 games.

Skaggs, who is 1-1 in five starts, left after five innings with a pain between his ribs and hip.
