Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said Friday President Trump is making a difference with border security and a wall will continue to help.

“The president saying that [illegal immigrants are] actually going to be deported has an impact,” Mr. Paxton said on Fox Business. “I think he’s made a difference in changing the narrative.”

In addition to deportations, Mr. Paxton said, a wall will continue to help with border security, explaining that fencing put in El Paso, Texas, which borders Mexico on the Rio Grande, helped with safety and decreased illegal border crossings.

“Strategically placing walls and fences can help,” he said.

Mr. Paxton is currently facing felony security charges and failing to register as an investment adviser with the state. He has dismissed the charges as politically motivated.
