BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore’s City Hall will be lit up pink and green in celebration of the historic Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
The sorority will host several community service projects over the next week at the 86th annual North Atlantic Regional Conference in Baltimore.
Conference attendees will participate in service projects in the areas of education, health, family strengthening, environmental ownership and global impact. During the conference, which begins Thursday, members will present 1,000 backpacks and clothing to Baltimore students, stock a food pantry and conduct a panel discussion.
