Rep. Kevin Brady says the president is “going bold” on tax reform.

Mr. Brady, the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, said on MSNBC that he has been working with the White House on the tax plan, and both House and Senate Republicans are close to being united with President Trump’s proposal.

“I think there’s 80 percent or more common ground here. We’ve got some work to do,” Mr. Brady said. “I’ll leave the news to him, but I think the president is going bold here.”

The Texas Republican said lowering the corporate tax rate is one component of the plan, and he’d like to see it go even lower than the proposed 15 or 20 percent.

President Trump is set to release his tax plan on Wednesday.
