English actor Tom Hardy put a fleeing motorcycle thief under citizen’s arrest in London over the weekend, police said Tuesday.

“The Revenant” star jumped into action Sunday afternoon after two 16-year-olds on a motorcycle crashed into a car in suburban Richmond, BBC reported.

The teenagers attempted to flee the accident but Mr. Hardy, 39, chased one of them down and held the suspect under citizen’s arrest until help arrived, police said. The second suspect was reportedly apprehended by a police officer.

Both teens were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and remain in police custody, police said.

“We can confirm that there were two people on a stolen moped that went through a red light and crashed into another vehicle,” a Richmond police spokesman said, BBC reported. “The males ran off and one was detained by Tom Hardy.”

“Both suspects were initially taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” police said.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman later clarified that the stolen vehicle was a motorcycle, BBC reported.

A spokeswoman for Mr. Hardy, who played notorious archvillain Bane in the 2012 Batman movie “The Dark Knight Rises,” declined to comment to BBC.
