COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Heavy rains moving across South Carolina have left street flooding and scattered power outages.

Duke Energy reported more than 2,500 customers without electricity Monday morning. Most of those were in Greenville County. South Carolina Electric and Gas Co. reported about 200 customers without service, most in Lexington County.

Storms dumped up to 2 inches of rain across parts of the central and eastern parts of the state Sunday night and Monday morning.

A flash flood watch was in effect for the same areas Monday. Up to 4 inches of rain was possible in the Columbia area. Up to 6 inches of rain could fall from the Charleston area to the North Carolina state line..

Street flooding was reported in downtown Columbia and Charleston.
