OPINION:
Apparently, having a “former presidential candidate” or “former governor” next to your name doesn’t get you any better Comcast cable service than the average no-name Joe.
Just ask Mike Huckabee, who took to Twitter to express his frustration with the cable company. It reads like a “Seinfeld” moment, where character Cosmo Kramer finally had enough of the waiting game, and turned tables on the cable guy.
Only Huckabee’s story unfolded in easy-to-read tweets.
He started this way: “Is @comcast the United AL version of cable/Internet/phone? Has anyone else had DEPLORABLE dealings with @comcast? #tincans&string.”
Love the hashtag, guv’nah. And good tie-in to the United Airlines public relations crisis.
Huckabee then tweeted: “By the time @comcast shows up to fix THEIR problems after they missed THEIR appt today, my 5 year old grandson will be graduating college.”
But that’s the warm-up.
“Mafia better service than @comcast Sure they shoot you, but it’s over with and they don’t charge you for the bullet,” he tweeted.
And another: “How bad is @comcast service? I’d rather have Obama back as President than have Comcast.”
Ouch. Now say you don’t mean it, Mike. That can’t be true.
Either way, Huckabee — like Kramer — got his cable man.
In a message just a few minutes after the Obama remark, ComcastCares tweeted: “@GovMikeHuckabee I’d be happy to assist with your account concerns. Please send me a DM with your address or phone # to get started.”
Go Huckabee, go. We’re rooting for you, guy. Because of your tweets, all of America now knows the common denominator for citizens of the United States is we all face death, we all pay taxes — and apparently, we all hate Comcast customer service.
