A former Trump campaign aide defended the Clinton camp Thursday against a new tell-all book on the campaign, calling it “disrespectful.”
Jason Miller, who served as communications director on the Trump campaign, said on CNN’s “New Day” that books like “Shattered,” about the inside of Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential campaign, are “terrible for the political process.”
“I think books like this are completely disrespectful to candidates who run for office and, frankly, disrespectful to opponents on the other side who work so hard for their candidate,” Mr. Miller said.
The problem with such books, Mr. Miller said, is that they rely on background information and anonymous sources.
“But what we’re talking about here are these anonymous, off-the-record sources who are going through and trashing people at a personal level,” he said. “I hope they find out who some of these leakers are, and they need to be taken to the woodshed.
“We see the continued efforts to try and delegitimize [Presidetn Trump],” he said. “And again, I think that too many are trying to keep this campaign going.”
Mr. Miller backed out of the White House communications director position last year after allegations he had an affair with a Trump transition team official.
