BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A non-profit group that works with the homeless in Vermont’s largest city is getting ready to open a new location where homeless adults can drop in during the day.

The Committee on Temporary Shelter on Burlington’s North Avenue will open its new building, which includes 14 subsidized housing units on the second flood, this month. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for Monday.

The previous home for the day station was destroyed by a flood in 2012. Since the flood the committee has run the program from a number of interim locations around the city.

The Burlington Free Press (https://bfpne.ws/2nwrrCe) reports the center features laundry facilities, a shower and computers. It will serve as a place where the city’s homeless can connect to services such as health care or jobs.
