“The Late Night” host Stephen Colbert decided to use a custody battle being waged for Alex Jones’ three children as fodder for jokes Monday night.
Mr. Colbert, who regularly talks about his Catholic faith, told his audience that he “feels” for the Info Wars host, who is amid an acrimonious divorce from the mother of his three children, Kelly Jones.
But the comic parlayed his mock sympathy into jokes about a fictional Jones-like character named “Tuck Buckford.”
“My blood is on fire! My blood is a volcano! It’s time to throw a virgin in there,” Mr. Colbert joked with an Info Wars-inspired graphic for “Brain Fight” in the background. “I’m a skeleton wrapped in angry meat.”
News broke Sunday that Mr. Jones’ attorney told a judge at a pretrial hearing that bombastic behavior during some of Info Wars’ broadcasts should not be used to evaluate the host’s parenting skills.
“He’s playing a character,” attorney Randall Wilhite said, The American Statesman reported. “He is a performance artist.”

Kelly Jones said the host’s behavior is not an act.
Mr. Colbert joked during his broadcast that Mr. Jones’ shows make him seem like a “coked-out football coach in a police standoff” who should not have children.
“The Late Show” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. EST on CBS.
