NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Former U.S. Attorney Kenneth Polite (poh-LEET’) Jr. has accepted a job at New Orleans-based Entergy Corp.

The company says the 41-year-old Polite started work Tuesday as the head of its legal, ethics and compliance department. Polite replaced Neal Jansonius, who recently announced his retirement.

NOLA.comThe Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/2peF0e4 ) that Polite’s move to the private sector was fast-tracked after Polite was forced from his job as top prosecutor for the Eastern District of Louisiana, a job he held for 3½ years. President Donald Trump called for immediate resignations of many U.S. attorneys last month.

In a news release, Entergy’s executive vice president and counsel, Marcus Brown, praised Polite’s leadership experience and his commitment to local communities.
