SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - A defense industry manufacturing company is expanding its operations in Salisbury, a move expected to create dozens of new jobs.
The Daily Times reports (https://delmarvane.ws/2pPzTNx ) Manufacturing Support Industries Inc. is integrating new product lines at its Salisbury facility, which will add 42 new jobs during the next three years. The company produces weaponry components for the military.
Gov. Larry Hogan’s office said in a statement that the Maryland Department of Commerce has approved a $100,000 conditional loan through the Maryland Economic Development Assistance Authority and Fund. The Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development Corporation will also provide an additional $100,000 loan. The company is also eligible for various tax credits.
The newspaper reports the announcement marks the third major manufacturing project for Salisbury in the past six months.
