PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - The summer-like warmth has broken a 41-year-old temperature record in Portland, Maine, for Easter Sunday.

The Portland Press Herald (https://bit.ly/2oE7xGx ) reports it hit 86 degrees at the Portland International Airport.

Tom Hawley, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Gray, says the previous record for April 16 was 78 degrees, in 1976. The normal temperature for that day is 54 degrees.

Temperatures in the area are expected to fall to the mid-40s for most of the week.
