FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) - An investigation has concluded that a man killed in a two-car crash on Cape Cod in December was driving recklessly and under the influence of alcohol.
The Cape Cod Times reports (https://bit.ly/2ozPMui ) that a Falmouth police investigation found that 32-year-old Raymond Atkinson ran a stop sign and a red flashing light before crossing an intersection and being struck by a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Samantha Teed.
Police say Atkinson had a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit to drive and tested positive for a compound found in marijuana. Investigators concluded Atkinson was impaired by alcohol and caused the crash.
Police say Atkinson also was not wearing a seatbelt.
Atkinson succumbed to his injuries after being taken to Falmouth Hospital.
Teed suffered minor injuries.
