PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) - A man is jailed without bond after allegedly robbing a Peoria clothing store, fatally shooting the shop’s owner and stealing about $400 in clothes plus a luxury vehicle.

Jourdyn Ford had his initial court appearance Friday. He doesn’t have an attorney yet.

Peoria police arrested the 18-year-old Ford on Thursday on suspicion of first-degree murder, armed robbery and theft of a means of transportation.

Police say he was wearing some of the stolen clothes and officers recovered the handgun allegedly used in the fatal shooting and the keys to the stolen Mercedes SUV.

They say 57-year-old Christina Park of Peoria was found shot at Park Clothing Center. She later died at a hospital.

Officers viewed surveillance video and determined a robbery had occurred and Ford had fled the scene.
