Huma Abedin shopping for Hillary Clinton campaign-book deal: Report

Huma Abedin, the Hillary Clinton aide and wife of now-infamous serial sexter Anthony Weiner, is shopping for a multi-million book deal, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

According to unnamed sources, Ms. Abedin “has been meeting with top literary agents during the past few weeks for to discuss a book that is envisioned as a reflection on how her personal and professional lives collided during the campaign,” reported THR, adding that she’s apparently looking to get around $2-million deal for the project.

But while the literary elite in Manhattan may have overwhelmingly voted for Ms. Abedin’s boss, the 40-year-old Clinton campaign political power player may have a tough go of selling a publisher on the deal.

“No one would have approached me with this book because they know I’m not a Hillary fan. I’m an Obama fan,” THR quoted ICM Partners’ Esther Newberg as saying. “This will be an interesting sale to see who wants to know what [Weiner] said to her each time he was caught. If she reveals a lot, it turns your stomach. If she doesn’t, she puts the publisher in a bad place.”

Ms. Abedin and Mr. Weiner first met in 2001 but only started seriously dating in 2008, marrying two years later in a ceremony officiated by former President Bill Clinton. They have one child together, 5-year-old son Jordan.

Mr. Weiner’s first sexting scandal came to light in 2011 thanks to an image he inadvertently shared publicly on Twitter (it was intended as a private message). The scandal doomed his congressional career. Two years later, fresh revelations of ongoing sexually-themed messages with other women similarly doomed his New York City mayoral race. 

Finally, at the height of the 2016 campaign last September, the Daily Mail reported that the former Brooklyn congressman had sexted with a 15-year-old girl. In January of this year, The Wall Street Journal reported that federal authorities were weighing bringing child pornography charges against Mr. Weiner.
