SEATTLE (AP) - A man was found dead after a storm of bullets jolted a Seattle neighborhood awake overnight.

KOMO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2osN74W ) that police were searching Wednesday for two suspects who got away.

Police say the drama unfolded at about midnight Tuesday when two officers on patrol near Rainier Avenue South heard gunshots.

The officers saw three people run away from the area. They caught one man who was armed with a handgun and took him into custody, but the other two remain on the loose.

A man’s body was found in a nearby alleyway. Police also found an assault rifle.

A neighbor told KOMO News he was awakened by gunfire and thought he was going to get hit himself.

A Seattle police homicide unit is at the scene investigating.
