GOP Rep. Ken Buck of Colorado on Wednesday said the best way to address the government’s debt is to reform entitlements - but that President Trump has taken that option off the table.
“The reality is that this president has taken Social Security and Medicare off the table,” Mr. Buck said. “We’re trying to address Medicaid.”
Mr. Buck, who was on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” promoting his new book, said mandatory spending is where politicians are least likely to make “tough decisions.”
“There is a bipartisan bankruptcy going on right now,” he said. “They’re not willing to make the tough decisions that put their candidacy at risk.”
