CARSON, Calif. (AP) - LA Galaxy goalkeeper Dan Kennedy has retired after a 10-year MLS career.

Kennedy announced his decision Tuesday while joining the Galaxy’s front office and broadcasting teams.

The 34-year-old Los Angeles-area native joined Chivas USA shortly after starring at UC Santa Barbara. He spent seven seasons with the defunct club that shared StubHub Center with the Galaxy, becoming its franchise leader in games played and saves.

He played for FC Dallas in 2015 after Chivas USA shut down, but lost his starting job there and joined the Galaxy before last season. He never cracked the Galaxy’s regular lineup after injuring his groin in the 2016 season opener, making only three appearances.
