LACY LAKEVIEW, Texas (AP) - General Dynamics Information Technology plans to close a Central Texas call center and eliminate about 840 jobs.

The company announced Monday that operations will cease May 31 at the center in Lacy Lakeview, near Waco.

The call center helped customers find health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

General Dynamics Information Technology has sent a notice to the Texas Workforce Commission, informing the agency of its plans to close operations. The center opened in 2013.

General Dynamics Information Technology is a unit of Falls Church, Virginia-based General Dynamics.
