CALEDONIA, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a former Mississippi high school band director faces two sex-related felony charges, and at least one charge allegedly involves a minor.

The Clarion-Ledger reports (https://on.thec-l.com/2onAXdR ) 42-year-old band director David Tawan Chambers was arrested Monday on one count of fondling and one count of “computer luring” of persons under 18 for sexual purposes.

Chambers was the band director at Caledonia High School until Feb. 24. He resigned the same day the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department opened an investigation. Lowndes County Chief Deputy Marc Miley says the offenses happened in the county and on school events in other Mississippi cities.

A circuit court judge held a probable cause hearing Thursday before signing the arrest warrants. Chambers is being held in the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center awaiting bond.
