PELAHATCHIE, Miss. (AP) - Police have found 1.4 pounds (0.64 kilograms) of crystal methamphetamine at a home in Pelahatchie, Mississippi, intended for distribution within the community.

The Clarion-Ledger reports (https://on.thec-l.com/2nU2lfJ ) that this is the biggest non-interstate drug bust in Pelahatchie police department history. Police Chief Kevin Poole said the drugs are worth at least $100,000 and could supply the community twice over. He also said that the Mississippi town has not historically had drug issues.

Moses Jerome McLaurin and Tori Jade Franklin have been charged with possession with intent to distribute after the drugs were found in a search of McLaurin’s home Sunday. McLaurin has a previous criminal record related to drugs and was out on bond. Franklin does not have a record. Poole said he expects more arrests in connection with the case.
