SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Students at Utah colleges and universities will soon see a tuition rate hike.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2oLrLgn ) that Utah’s Board of Regents voted unanimously Friday to raise tuition costs for all eight campuses in the Utah System of Higher Education.

All schools will have at least a 2.5 percent increase.

University of Utah, Utah State University, Weber State University and Dixie State University will also get an extra increase that will range from an additional 1 percent and 2.5 percent.

It will amount to an $80 to $290 increase.

Annual tuition for an undergraduate, in-state student will now range between $3,276 at Snow College to $7,697 at the University of Utah.

School presidents said they needed more money because of inflation, student services and faculty retention.
