MARION, Iowa (AP) - Police in eastern Iowa say a Linn County Co-Op employee has been accused of stealing thousands of dollars from his employer.

Cedar Rapid television station KCRG reports (https://bit.ly/2ou0Fv4 ) that Marion Police Lt. Chad Nott says police were contacted in August after officials at the co-op suspected an employee was stealing money.

After a lengthy investigation, 56-year-old Robert Michael Ball was arrested. He is charged with first-degree theft and ongoing criminal activity.

Nott says Ball is accused of taking more than $10,000 since 2007.

Ball could not be reached for comment Saturday. His attorney did not immediately return a phone message left Saturday.
