For the later part of their careers, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal weren’t exactly buddy-buddy.

The two former Los Angeles Lakers won three straight championships together from 2000 to 2002, but rumors began to swirl when O’Neal was traded to the Miami Heat that the two stars just didn’t get along.

The instances of a hostile relationship ranged from Bryant accusing O’Neal of paying off women, O’Neal pretending not to know who Bryant was during an interview and O’Neal dissing Bryant in a rap.

But, over the last few years, as the two began to move into different stages of their careers, their feud began to simmer down a bit. When Bryant retired, O’Neal had lots of nice things to say about his former teammate’s career.

Now, O’Neal is set to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame, and Bryant made sure to offer him his congratulations on Instagram.

It seems the two teammates have officially let bygones be bygones and recognize just how great each of them truly were.
