Former President Bill Clinton kept President Obama waiting on Air Force One in Israel Friday as they prepared to return to the U.S.

A seemingly exasperated Mr. Obama stood in the doorway of the presidential plane and called to Mr. Clinton, who was schmoozing on the tarmac, to climb aboard.

“Bill! Let’s go!” Mr. Obama called from the top of the stairs, clapping his hands and motioning for Mr. Clinton to hurry up.

Mr. Obama paced in the doorway of Air Force One for about a minute, calling to Mr. Clinton again.

“Let’s go! I’ll take you home,” Mr. Obama called out.

Finally Mr. Clinton ascended the stairs and reached out for a handshake with Mr. Obama as he got on the plane.

They were in Israel to attend the funeral of former Israeli President Shimon Peres.
