The Commission on Presidential Debates admitted Friday that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump did in fact have some technical issues with his audio setup at Monday night’s debate at Hofstra University.
“Regarding the first debate, there were issues regarding Donald Trump’s audio that affected the sound level in the debate hall,” read the terse one-line statement by the Commission.
Mr. Trump openly wondered after the debate if someone had purposefully rigged his microphone to malfunction.
“I had a problem with a microphone that didn’t work,” Mr. Trump said Tuesday on “Fox and Friends.” “I don’t know if you saw that in the room, but my microphone was terrible. I wonder was it set up that way on purpose — my microphone, in the room, they couldn’t hear me. It was going on and off.”
