POTTSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - A Pennsylvania attorney, already disbarred for robbing a bank last year, is now headed to prison.

Fifty-eight-year-old Steven Cormier, of Walnutport, was sentenced to 1½ to 3 years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to robbing the Wells Fargo Bank at Fairlane Village Mall in Norwegian Township last October.

Cormier’s mother has said he had fallen on hard times after losing his job as a corporate attorney. He agreed to be disbarred after his arrest.

State police say Cormier stole nearly $16,000 from the bank by telling a teller “things are going to get ugly” if she didn’t fill a plastic bag with money.

Police stopped him a short time later and took him back to the bank where three employees identified him.
