MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia University and the University of Pittsburgh will renew their rivalry through a four-game basketball series starting in the 2017-18 season.

WVU Athletics Director Shane Lyons announced Thursday that Pitt will host the first game in 2017-18. The annual game will switch home courts every year until WVU hosts the final game of the series in 2020-21.

The two schools have long been rivals. They will also resume their heated football rivalry in 2022.

Pitt will host West Virginia in football in 2022 and 2024, with WVU playing host in 2023 and 2025.
