Rex Ryan has been in a cheeky mood all week leading up to his Buffalo Bills matchup against the New England Patriots.

Earlier this week, he impersonated Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, and now, he’s taken his pranks a step further.

For each game, players generally call the opposing team’s throng of media members on a conference call to answer whatever question gets thrown their way. Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was this week’s featured player for the reporters. So when Ryan caught wind that it was Edelman on the line, he had to step in and ask a question.

Take a look:

Yes, that is Rex Ryan, also known as Walt Patulski of the Buffalo News, asking Edelman if he is going to be the Patriots’ quarterback.

To his credit, Edelman answered Patulski’s awful question by saying he’d do whatever he is asked to do. But it is a legitimate concern for the Patriots.

Quarterback Tom Brady still has one game remaining on his four game suspension for “Deflategate.” Backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been limited in practice with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder while third-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett is nursing a sprained thumb.

But why would Edelman be a quarterback option? He played in college, and if Brissett was knocked out of his Week 3 matchup against the Houston Texans, Edelman would have been the one who stepped in as quarterback.
