DERBY, England (AP) - Nigel Pearson’s first job since being fired by Leicester has hit rocky ground after he was told by struggling second-tier team Derby County that he cannot manage its next match.
Derby, which is third-to-last in the League Championship, says Pearson “will not be carrying out his duties” for the game at Cardiff on Tuesday.
Pearson was fired by Leicester last year, soon after guiding the club to safety in the Premier League with seven wins in its last nine games of the 2014-15 season. He was replaced by Claudio Ranieri, who led Leicester to the Premier League title last season.
