WASHINGTON (AP) - A Mississippi man who said he had come to Washington to take a picture with President Barack Obama is facing charges after telling police he had a pistol and rifle in his car.

L Hue Firle of Collins, Mississippi, is charged with possession of an unregistered firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition.

Court documents say the 65-year-old called 911 after being unable to locate his car. He told police he came to Washington to take a picture with Obama but fell ill after parking. He said he was taken to a hospital and later unable to find his car.

Court documents say police located the car and inside found a rifle, a pistol and ammunition.

A telephone message seeking comment left Monday for Firle’s attorney was not immediately returned.
