GREENFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Authorities have identified a longtime Massachusetts State Police worker killed in a fire over the weekend along with three of his family members, including a 5-year-old.
Fire officials say the Greenfield home caught fire early Sunday. Greenfield is about 35 miles north of Springfield. Firefighters found the flames were too intense to enter the home.
Firefighters found four individuals inside after the fire was brought under control.
Authorities have identified the victims as 48-year-old Brian Tower, 49-year-old Florenda Tower, her son, 28-year-old Raymond Wood, and his son, 5-year-old William Paul Clark.
State Police say Brian Tower had been a radio maintenance technician. He had worked for state police since 1988.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
