Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are nearly tied in four-way contests in the battleground states of Pennsylvania and Colorado, according to CNN/ORC polling released Monday.
In Pennsylvania, Mrs. Clinton had a 1-point, 45 percent to 44 percent, lead over Mr. Trump, with Libertarian Gary Johnson at 6 percent and Green Party nominee Jill Stein at 3 percent.
And in Colorado, Mr. Trump had a 1-point, 42 percent to 41 percent, lead over Mrs. Clinton, with Mr. Johnson at 13 percent and Ms. Stein at 3 percent.
Head-to-head, Mrs. Clinton led Mr. Trump by 3 points in Pennsylvania and by 2 points in Colorado.
But the new polling — conducted from Sept. 20-25 — comes in two states where Mrs. Clinton had enjoyed double-digit advantages over Mr. Trump at one point and amid tightening in other battleground state polls and in national surveys.
The polling also comes as Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Trump are set to square off in the first presidential debate of the general election at Hofstra University in New York on Monday.
